* * * * * For 26 years, the Holly Festival of Trees has been the highlight of the holiday season in Hampton Roads. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the Festival of Trees and since its inception it remains a much anticipated event. This two-day extravaganza is one of Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters’ (CHKD) largest fundraising events of the year, with more than 1,000 patrons attending. The Holly Festival of Trees features over 45 beautifully decorated trees, enchanting gingerbread creations, elaborate gift items, and spectacular wreaths designed and donated by local artists, chefs, businesses and community groups. These unique designs are auctioned off to the highest bidder and all proceeds benefit CHKD. In the past, the Holly Festival of Trees purchased the following items for CHKD (to name a few): Neonatal Air Ventilators · Aquatic Therapy Pool · Pediatric Transport Unit (Ambulance) · State-of-the-art Pediatric Cribs · Endowment Funds for the Child Abuse and Nursing Scholarship Programs. The Holly Festival of Trees allows the Hampton Roads community to “deck their homes” with unique holiday decorations and ensure the vitality of our future, the health of our children through CHKD.
