May 20, 2012 Tour de Cuisine This year’s 8th Annual Tour de Cuisine takes place in the beautiful neighborhood of Riverpoint in Norfolk and will showcase gorgeous homes on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Each of the homes featured in this event graciously open their kitchen, dining room, and beautiful outdoor areas that they wish to entertain us. This is an opportunity for guests in each home to enjoy a treat prepared by a local chef as they demonstrate their culinary talent serving tastings of their delectable creations paired with cocktails. A local floral designer will provide arrangements for each home in order to enhance the overall experience. In addition, we also anticipate featuring local artists and jewelry in some of the homes. June 16, 2012 RunWalk for the Kids The 2012 RunWalk for the Kids, (Saturday, June 16) is a fun, healthy life centered event for all the family and will feature an 8k Run, 2 Mile Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run for the Kids. The 2012 RunWalk for the Kids will encourage children to exercise daily, through a “marathon” training program in preparation for the event, as well as helping children and families learn more about living a healthy lifestyle every day. Businesses will also come together to compete as Corporate Teams, sponsor the event and exhibit booths in support of CHKD at the race venue. Registration begins at 6:15am the 8k Run and 2 mile Walk start at approximately 7:30am and the 1 mile Fun Run begins at 9:00am; the event venue area will feature music, refreshments, awards and kids activities.
