Downtown Circle

Who We Are

The Downtown Circle, formed in 1994, is a group of women in a broad age range who really have a heart for children. While members generally work in the downtown Norfolk area, we welcome any women who are interested in joining us.

We’ve participated in all the major projects to raise money for CHKD (Holly Ball, Holly Festival of Trees, RunWalk for the Kids) and run a number of our own fundraisers. Our signature project is the “Downtown Circle Oyster Roast”, held in October each year at the Norfolk Boat Club, which our loyal followers describe as a great time with even better food! We are always open to new ideas for raising funds for the children, as long as they are fun and profitable. Given our location, we are often called upon to assist with one-time events in the downtown area that benefit CHKD, such as the opening the Downtown Market Place.

We are a fun, dedicated, and hard-working group of women. We hold an efficient lunch meeting the first Wednesday of each month at noon at the TowneBank building in downtown Norfolk. We welcome all new members and hope you check us out!
