August 23, 2008 5th Annual Duck Tape Regatta The Duck Tape Regatta is a boat building/sailing adventure where participants are given four hours to create a "boat" out of wood and tape. The boats enter a race for seaworthiness and speed. The adrenaline and cheering of the crowd rivals any major NASCAR, Derby or track race. It is pure excitement!

•Schedule one pick up with the CHKD Thrift Store (622-KIDS ) on the Southside and (874-5437) on the Peninsula
•Receive documentation from the Thrift Store regarding pick up and number of donated bags
1. Feel free to collect items from friends, family members, and neighbors. Each donation helps!
2. Suggested donations include: CLOTHING, TOYS, KNICK-KNACKS, GLASSWARE, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, or anything "re-sellable!!!"
LARGE ITEMS, SUCH AS FURNITURE, TELEVISIONS, COMPUTERS, ETC., WILL BE ACCEPTED BUT THEY ARE NOT PART OF THIS DONATION DRIVE.
3. Each bag of items is worth one point. A typical grocery size bag is sufficient. (A large garbage bag filled with items is worth only one point).
4. Donations of empty bags (plastic or brown grocery bags) are not considered donations.
5. Contest begins Friday May 16, 2008 and ends promptly on Monday, May 19, 2008. Prizewinners will be recognized in an upcoming issue of the Circular.

May 18, 2008 Tour de Cuisine Seven Beautiful homes in the picturesque Lochhaven neighborhood of Norfolk will be the focus for this year's Tour de Cuisne on Sunday May 18, 2008 from 1pm-5pm. Each home will be featuring an exclusive view of their kitchens, dining rooms and moreand will showcase the culinary talents of celebrated loal chefs from prominent area restaurants. ADVANCE TICKETS available at $50 each until Friday May 16th at 3pm. TICKETS will be sold (and will-call) at 7612 N. Shore Road starting at 1pm on Sunday May 18th at $60 each. May 18, 2008 1pm – 5pm TICKETS * Advance Tickets are available at $50/person until Friday at 3pm Tickets will be sold after that at $60/person at the home of Harvey and Dee Roberts located at 7612 N. Shore Road in Norfolk beginning at 1:00pm. Will call tickets are also available at this home. All tickets will only be available at the Roberts home. ORDER OF TOUR • There is no recommended “order” in which the homes should be toured. Begin wherever you wish. However, for your convenience, houses are mapped out in a preferred order on the inside of your ticket. Tickets will be checked at each home. PARKING • Parking is available at 2nd Presbyterian Church parking lot on the corner of Hampton Blvd. and North Shore Rd. • If parking on the streets in the neighborhood, please be mindful of the homeowners’ yards and driveways. SHUTTLES • There is one (1) shuttle available for your convenience. • The shuttle will begin running at 12:50pm from 2nd Presbyterian Church and will do a continuous loop of the tour. • There will be a volunteer/guide on the shuttle bus to answer questions, etc. BATHROOM • There are two portable toilets available for tour guests in the front yard of 1338 Cloncurry Rd. This is NOT a home on the tour. SHOES • We ask that you not wear shoes with a pointed heel that may damage floors. • In some of the homes, you may be required to wear booties to protect the carpet, etc. especially in inclement weather.
