The King's Daughters made a pledge in 2005 to donate 1 million dollars over five years to the CHKD Endowment Fund specifically supporting the Child Abuse Center and the Nursing Scholarship Program. The King's Daughters donated $200,000 in fiscal year 2005-2006 and $230,000 in 2006-2007 towards this pledge. Each circle has been asked to make a minimum pledge donation toward the Endowment. This donation is to be achieved over four years, starting July 1, 2006, and ending June 30, 2010. This is in addition to the annual funds that circles contribute towards CHKD’s operating fund. In 2010, all members will celebrate the successful completion of our $1 million dollar Endowment Campaign for the Child Abuse Center and Nursing Scholarship Program. Participating Circles will be included in our prominently displayed artwork, thanking those who made this Endowment possible. This special artwork is to be unveiled at an event honoring those who contributed. The King's Daughters have a rich history of setting high goals and achieving superior results. Once again, The King's Daughters will rise to the occasion. In an era of declining numbers of qualified nurses, and ever increasing abuse to children, we will fill the need. That’s the bottom line.
