CURRENT FUNDRAISERS TO BENEFIT CHKD:

Atlantic_FLOWERpower09LOGO.gif

We've just launched our online fundraising campaign. We created a special landing page for all of our friends and family to come to and support our great cause! For every purchase you, your friends or family make, Atlantic Circle of The King's Daughters, will receive 50% of the total sale to benefit CHKD. So, if "Cousin Sally" comes to the site and makes a purchase of $40... Atlantic Circle will get $20 to use toward our fundraising goal.

What's really great about this fundraising program is that our partner, Flower Power Fundraising, is totally committed to our cause. They are putting out top-quality, best-selling flower bulbs and plants, shipping directly to your friend or family member, and, they're giving us a 100% satisfaction guarantee. It's hard to go wrong with that!

To start supporting our group today just click on the link below and follow the instructions once you're there. It's completely safe and any email address you enter into the site will only be used for our fundraiser. Flower Power will not sell or use the names for any other purpose.

For any questions and to start shopping, please contact Julia at nbrock4@cox.net, or, for technical questions related to the site call Flower Power Fundraising at 1-877-605-3185.

Atlantic Circle History:
Atlantic Circle was formed in 1963. One of Atlantic Circle’s first contribution was to help in the formation of Harbor Circle and Beacon Circle.

During the early years, the Circle specialized in sewing. From 1966 to 1973, the Circle decorated all floors of the old hospital and clinic with large painted wooden figures. In the following years, the Circle provided a make-up booth for children at the hospital fair, sponsored in St. Patrick’s Day party for the hospital patients, and provided a driver one day a week to drive milk from nursing mothers to the hospital.

From 1969 to 1973, the Circle co-sponsored “One of a Kind” dances with Harbor and Beacon Circles. These dances raised over $12,300 for the hospital.

From the fall of 1973 to the fall of 1982, Atlantic Circle sponsored bingo with Harbor Circle, Beacon Circle and the Sertoma Club. During this period of time over $70,000 was donated to the hospital.

Through the years, the Circle has had many fund-raising projects. Members sold pineapples, band-aids, baked goods, jewelry, tee shirts, ice cream, peanuts, fall plants and raffle tickets for a $2,500 Wedgewood Jasper bowl. They held homemaker’s auctions, a recipe swap, haunted houses, dances, garage sales, golf tournaments, regattas and “Dream Dinners” and tallied numerous Farm Fresh receipts.

Circle members made bears, slippers, mobiles, tray favors and bags with crayons and coloring books for the ER. The Circle sponsors with PICU Waiting Room B, stocking it with magazines, notepads, paperback books, crossword puzzles, and pencils.

The Circle has supported NCUKD Major Projects, most notably, the Holly Festival of Trees. Since 1990, Circle members have chaired or contributed in a variety of areas, physical arrangements, the Holly Boutique, Santa’s Kitchen, Photos with Santa, Trees and Breakfast with Santa. Ellen Myers, former Circle member Rose Goheen, Brie Martinson and Silver Nelson each have chaired the Holly Festival.

In addition, three Circle members, Julie Brock, Bernice Pope, and Brie Martinson have served on the NCUKD Board of Directors.

Atlantic Circle is a small Circle, with only about a dozen members. We are proud of our history of service and are always looking for new ways to contribute to CHKD.
