June 1, 2010
The Annual meeting of The King's Daughters was held on Tuesday, June 1, at CHKD. The highlight of the evening was making the final payment of $265,000 to finish the $1 Million Dollar pledge to the CHKD Endowment Fund. We also heard from Dr. Michelle Clayton, who has worked to combat child abuse as a pediatric forensic specialist at CHKD. Many circles presened checks from their circle projects - close to $60,000 was donated! Robin Maus, VP of Circles, presented certificates to the three outgoing board members - Patricia Hodge, Kristen Nunnally and Joyce Weddle. Elizabeth Hope presented the 2010-2011 slate and the Board was elected. Donna Cowdrey is the newest board member elected to the Board. Stephanie Calliott, Communications Director from CHKD, presented an award to The King's Daughters for the 2009 donation. The plaque features a child from the hospital who benefited from the Pet Therapy program. Circles presented information about their upcoming projects.
