Ardoris Junior Circle of The King's Daughters Ardoris Circle Annual Report 2010-2011 This past year our Ardoris Junior Circle was very busy and successful working together to raise money for the Children’s Hospital for the Kings Daughters. All of the girls from Maury High School, Norfolk Collegiate, and Norfolk Academy put a lot of effort into accomplishing our goals. We started off the year in September with a meeting where we planned all of our fundraising and volunteer activities. In October we went right to work by providing the children at CHKD with 88 Halloween bag tray favors. Then, on October 21st we had a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen and earned a total of $187.47. In November at our monthly meeting, the girls made eighty-one bears for CHKD patients. During the holiday season we once again participated at Shop from the Heart on November 14th. Also, twenty-one of the girls volunteered at the Kids Christmas Shop in December by helping out many children to pick-out presents for their siblings and parents and then wrap the items they decided on. At our annual holiday meeting in December the members brought twenty-three toys for the kids at CHKD. On February 17th, we tried a new fundraising idea by receiving some of the profit at Skinny Dip from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. We made $20. During the month of March we had our big fundraiser, Battle of the Bands. All of the girls volunteered at this event in shifts by helping to show the bands where to go and by selling tickets. In, April we spent some time during our meeting to make seventy-nine more bears for the children at CHKD. This past year was very successful, as we were busy every month with meetings, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising activities. We totaled up our canister money in May and resulted in $215.00. Also, we ended up donating $313.41 to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. In April we selected new members, three girls for each high school, to attend our meeting in May. At the May meeting the officers also passed on their role to the newly nominated officers. Our adult leaders included Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Kanter, who helped us a lot through out the year.
